Oldschool Runescape now available for play on your mobile!

This is something Runescape veterans could've never imagined back in the day when you were playing Runescape on your old computer. Being able to play Runescape literally anywhere, in the train, at the bus station, during class, while walking your dog, on the toilet, and even in the gym. Of course, we're talking about Old School Runescape Mobile, after a long time of development and testing it has finally been released to the public on the 30th of October. People can officially consider Old School Runescape now as a mobile and pc game, and not just a pc game anymore. So what does this mean to the community? There'll definitely be an increase of players because people who've quit Runescape or people who've never played Runescape will try the game out on mobile. The community will get bigger and the live player count in-game will increase too because people will be able to play while they're away from their computer.

Let's go through some frequently asked questions and important information regarding OSRS Mobile. You need Android Lollipop (5.0) or later and a minimum of 1GB RAM, or iOS 10.0 or later - iPhone5s, iPad Air, iPad mini2 or newer. You don't need to create a new account to play and can use your existing account. On the following devices there are some known issues with the performance: All Chromebooks, ASUS Nexus 7, HTX Nexus 9, NVIDIA Shield, Google Pixel C, Huawei P8 Lite. Old School Runescape Mobile is free-to-play, so you don't need an account with membership. To increase your battery life while playing, reduce your phone's brightness, turn off background apps, turn on medium battery saver, and adjusting the FPS in settings will reduce battery usage. You can play on tablets but it might not be flawless. When you play Old School Runescape Mobile, you'll be in the same world as PC players. Therefore, you can play together with friends that are on the PC while you're playing on mobile.

So what are the best things to do while playing Old School Runescape on mobile? You basically can do everything on mobile that you can do on the PC. Obviously, there can be some limitations because you'll be playing on a smaller screen but from a technical perspective there's no difference. Old School Runescape players have already proven this, players have been successfully engaging into player-versus-player combat but also player-versus-monster combat such as doing raids and minigames such as the Nightmare Zone. Skilling is no problem either as it's very simple and sometimes AFK-able, and the tap to drop system makes things even easier and faster. Let's take splashing to train your Magic as an example, when you're on the go you can easily AFK splashing. All you have to do is show some activity every twenty minutes like rotating your screen to prevent getting logged out. Free XP for zero efforts, pretty cool right? OSRS mobile opens a gate to a lot of opportunities.

Did you know you can actually get a higher FPS rate on Old School Runescape Mobile than when you're playing on the computer? On PC, Runescape sticks around 50 FPS, while mobile can run Runescape with 60 FPS.
